UFUG 1503 - Honors General Physics I (3 units) - Lecture (Spring 2025)
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology,
Guangdong, Guangzhou, China
Course Description: This is a calculus-based general physics course covering topics in mechanics and thermodynamics, providing solid foundations for students to pursue deep understandings and methods. This course will be divided into three modules: Module 1 covers fundamentals of mechanics including motion, Newton’s laws, momentum conservation, and rotation; Module 2 covers work and energy, energy conservation, oscillations, and waves; Module 3 covers laws of thermodynamics and kinetic theory. Understanding calculus is a preliminary to enroll in this course. This is the in-depth version of the course UFUG 1501 General Physics I.
Responsibility: Independently conducting the tutorial class. Each tutorial class is 60 minutes, focused on reviewing the important concepts covered during the lecture class and also solving example problems to check the students' learning progress and comprehension.
Number of Tutorial Sections: One
Tutorial Class Frequency: Once per week (60 minutes each session)
Total Number of Students Handled: 150 individuals
CHEM 112 - General Chemistry 1 (1 unit) - Laboratory (Winter 2022)
McGill University,
Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Course Description: Illustrative experiments. Laboratory section of CHEM 110. A study of the fundamental principles of atomic structure, radiation and nuclear chemistry, valence theory, coordination chemistry, and the periodic table.
Responsibility: Discuss the details of the experiments that the students have to perform and review key concepts from the lecture class which will help the students understand their results and create reasonable conclusions. Also, conducts safety reminders and assists the students in performing their experiments at the designated chemistry laboratory.
